Job Description:
Neufeld Designs is seeking a passionate and talented Intermediate Graphic Designer and Photo Retoucher to join our team. This position will report to the art director and serve as a support across all creative offerings to our clients, providing focused expertise to produce professional level print and digital assets. The incumbent will also be responsible for advanced photo retouching of editorial and commercial portraits, food and product photography. Experience in retouching is an asset but on-site training will also be available. While this role isn't primarily client-facing, the designer should be confident in communicating with clients professionally when required.
About Neufeld Designs:
Our boutique studio offers a full range of creative services including graphic design, integrated advertising campaigns, photography, video production, social media content creation and web design. We largely focus on higher education and healthcare industries but are steadily expanding into other markets.
Responsibilities:
Create innovative and compelling designs for both print and web.
Develop and enhance brand identities.
Assist on photoshoots and provide expert photo retouching services.
Collaborate with the art director to deliver high-quality design solutions.
Utilize strong layout and problem-solving skills to overcome design challenges.
Contribute to art direction and conceptual thinking for various projects.
Explore and implement new design trends and technologies.
Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Graphic Design or a related field.
2+ years of experience, ideally with some agency exposure.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, etc.).
Passionate about typography, branding and design.
Strong layout and problem-solving skills.
Experience with art direction and conceptual thinking.
Experience in photography is an asset.
Additional skills in video production and editing, illustration, web development, motion graphics, and 3D modeling are highly desirable.
